I desire a third pillar piece of hardware in the form of a new Gameboy but I'm most likely going to be disappointed.

I often said the sucessor to the wii will be released this year.

Definitely put this in the rumour pile. Videogamer.com just says it's their contact from a large company, but there's no additional information provided that make this more believable. If this is true and there are companies developing for this new platform, I fully expect more leaks in the coming months.

Anyway, has there been explicit denial from the powers that be at Nintendo about a Super Wii / Wii HD? I know Iwata said the next wii won't simply be hd, but that is so vague and sidesteps the question so that really doesn't tell us anything. I don't care what Reggie or some other PR tool says.

Makes perfect sense, right? The DS is selling well but Nintendo won't wait for Sony to launch the PSP2 first (this would be a disadvantage).

New Nintendo console in 2010 = impossible but a new handheld is very likely in my opinion.

It's completely fake. There's no such thing as a DS2, Nintendo will just continue to make small enhancements to the DS. There will be no Wii2 for at least 3 years, probably 4.

I think this is another suicide "tip" aimed at creating disappointment at Nintendo's real efforts.

There's a lot of people out there in business who desperately want Nintendo to fail at all costs, you couldn't even imagine how many.

Really, there's no such a thing as a third pillar. That was just their way of testing the waters with the DS without commiting themselves completely to that system. The DS has exactly everything you'd expect GBA2 to have plus dual screen and touch screen. I mean, it was even backwards compatible to GBA.
