Maybe if you give me 130 USD I would give you £100

I'll just re-iterate the guess I made on the news thread for the sake of conversation: Imagine you're playing Super Metroid, but instead of your shots being aimed in one of the D-pad's eight directions, you can aim anywhere you want with the pointer, completely independant of your movement. IR aiming isn't just for FPS/FPA games. |
or just use an analog stick...
Time for hype

Ew. No thanks.

I am guessing you mean using the analogue stick in the same way as the d-pad would be used to aim in 2-D. rather than the way the IR pointer is used (ie similar to an FPS)
The former wouldn't be bad if the Wii had 2 analogue sticks (you need 1 to move after all)
The latter (having a cursor that you have to move sluggishly across the screen) is perhaps why ringo said "Ew" because that would indeed be terrible for a 2D shooter.

I was assuming the first, actually. I still don't like it because it would be harder to aim and steals the use of a precious button-pressing thumb. But as you say, it would never happen without a second thumbstick, anyway.

EL_PATRAS said: metroid prime 3 was a bit weak on the story side (it's the only one I've played, so I can't judge the others in the prime series). Hopefully MoM will have a stronger storyline. |
The story is better when considered as a part of a whole. If you liked MP3 go get the few remaining copies of trilogy left. It will be worth it.
