Someone here claims M$ posted in their Finacial report that 39m was sold to consumers. If they actually say that. It's hard to deny. Because of certain laws in place to protect the shareholders and stock market. You cannot Lie on your finacial reports. Also the point of no Sony shortages. Not even Sony said of any shortages anywhere. Now if they claim 31m sold. And this site shows over 31m sold. The there would certainly have been shortages. Because that would mean Sony have made a huge amount of consoles in just 3 months. Something somewhere is out. It's not a simple one this time.

I am sure the numbers are based on microsoft overstated claims. The gap is probably pretty close to what VG has.

So then just wait for Sony to put out their shipment numbers.  Dille's MS number is definitely shipped and all current data would indicate that the Sony number was sold to customer.  If Sony's shipment number shows it being 31m total (which I would bet good money it won't) then things will be adjusted, otherwise Sony will say a shipment in line with the VGC numbers (very likely) and you'll know that Dille made a gaff and was comparing apples to oranges.

Hes basically saying that sonys dead last. Thats something that microsoft would never admit if they were last place. I'm starting to get a good impression of sony.

Xbox 360 at 39 millon? isn't that what Ballmer said a few weeks ago? I think this site somehow knows those numbers are only shipped to retailers, I wouldn't know, but they seem to do.

I figure Peter Dille doesn't have any other official "global sales" number to go by except that one provided by the competitor itself.

If that happen I think it would be best to avoid this site for two weeks letting them calm down
