Last year we did the best box cover art of 2008. Many people didn’t agree with our selection, but we didn’t really care either way. So, now we have the Best Box Cover Art of 2009!
Why do we do this you ask? Because, no one else does. No Really, the cover art is what sells a game if you don’t know anything about it. Therefore, we decided to pick what cover art stands out to us!
Saw

We can’t say much about the game, but we can say that the cover art stands out if not for the title alone, at least for the closeup of that creepy doll face.
Halo ODST

We really loved how defined the picture was.
Batman Arkham Asylum
It looks like a comic book cover, what more can any video game geek want?
Prototype

Even though we were disappointed in the redundant gameplay, We felt as though Alex’s morphing arm in the cover art was very well designed.
Street Fighter IV

This barely made it on the list, but it did because of the watercolorish spin.
DJ Hero
If you can ignore your annoyance of all bandwagoning games ending in hero, you would have looked at this case or box should we say.
Brütual Legend
What can we say, we hated this game…But the cover we liked.
James Cameron’s Avatar The Game
Not only can the movie give you an orgasm through visual stimulation, the cover looks good too.
Assassin’s Creed II
]
What can we say, Ezio has more swagger than Altair *Kanye West Shrug*
And the best box cover art of 2009 award goes to…..
Borderlands
The guy is shooting himself in the head with his fingers that fades into a backdrop of illustrated gameplay, if that doesn’t intrigue you..you’re already dead.
UPDATED 1/01/2009
I can’t believe we forgot Uncharted 2! Not only is Drake hanging on the edge of a cliff by his ever so reliable strong fingers but, the cover accurately depicted what a player would see while in game…AMAZING GRAPHICS!
