While reading a copy of Playstation: The Official Magazine (December 2009) issue that was sent to my mail, something really seemed to catch my eye. On page 20 of the magazine there is an article titled “The Secret Games of 2010″ and it just so happens to speak of Killzone 3.

“Insider slips reveal three big names you can already pencil for the next year. Killzone 3 is reportedly deep in development, Insomniac’s Full Moon Show podcast hints at a project we can only conclude is Resistance 3, and a Treyarch employee’s online mentions a Call of Duty: World at World sequel.”

It would be nice if Killzone 3 came out next year as another AAA title that is exclusive for the Playstation 3. But who knows what could happen…no one really does.

I doubt it, Killzone 2 was released early 2009. We won't see Killzone 3 until early 2011 at the earliest.

Yes, they have the engine, but it still takes a lot of work to make the game.  A two year dev cycle is pretty much standard and any AAA game will at least have that if everything goes *perfectly*.

Killzone 3 is possible, they have the engine set down and they dont need to do any major improvements.

I hope we get to play as Helghast.

I doubt one will be Resistance 3, having both KZ3 and Res3 go up against CoD and a Halo game will be suicide.

I predict a new IP from Insomniac.

we know Resistance 3 is coming (think it will be early 2011) but its way to soon for a killzone 3 isnt it? mmmmmmm
well if Killzone 3 does come next year, il be buying it!

if that's true it's way sooner than i anticipated. but when you consider guerrilla said kz was ready to go q4 of 08, that gives them about a 2 yr window for development. it's possible.

great news. I figured Killzone 3 was a sure thing this generation on PS3. After 3 years of developing the PS3 engine for the game they have to make use of it again and release at least one sequel.

Well I would think the absolute earliest for Killzone 3 would be 4Q 2010. But even that might be to soon. They do have the engine already but still needs a story. Resistance 3 kinda expected as is World at War sequel.

I would have guessed at a 2011 release but I suppose they have a great engine in place already and I wouldn't be suprised if the groundwork for Killzone 3 was started last year during the long period GG spent polishing Killzone 2.

Uncharted 2 took 18 months to develope and it's one of the best looking games on any console.
