when did the Ps2 slim launch? Was it during the holidays? What was it before it launched? remember % means shit. the smaller the number to begin with the higher the percent. If ps2 was selling 50k weekly then shot up 500% then i believe ps3 will go up higher than 500%

Don't forget that we got a $100 price cut (first price cut in over 2 years) and a slim at the same time, I don't think the PS2 got a price cut when the Slim released (correct me if I'm wrong please).

So I expect 50K first week in Japan.

I don't hink the PS2's price was cut either. And 50k looks like a good guess. But as always, the most interesting is to see if the sales keep up.

The week before the slim it was selling at 19k but if you go back it looks like it was just people waiting for the slim because a few weeks before that was 25k. I fully expect more than a 500% increase for the ps3 slim just because they are selling so little right now.

Actually it's quite normal for sales to bottom out in early november like that.  Same thing has happened to the wii the last 2 years.  The reason it might be a bigger than 500% increase is just because PS3 sales are so low right now.  It's almost guaranteed to be bigger by percentage, the 360 had a a 900% increase because of blue dragon, but that is because sales were 4k, actually not far from what PS3 is at now.
