In their latest issue, PSW Magazine have built a graph with the prices of what we can expect from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 up to 2012. They say that this year the price of the PS3 will be cut to just £199 and by 2010, it will cost £129 and a new Xbox console will be released. The graph looks like this:

I dought the PS3 will be at 100 in 2012, maybe by 2014, 10 year plan remember.

Uh, I think the X360 price raise is due to Natal? It may be, but I don't think MS will stop to sell standard X360s.

I dont think that the PS3 will go down to £199 this year. Thats pretty low considering the weak pound.

Just swap 360 and PS3 and instead of teh cell has failed it is the RRoD has killed us all.

@ maxwell, that is a terrible graph, we all know that the PS3 is tracking above the 360 when launches are aligned, and you haven't labelled the x-axis

It is certainly possible we will see a £300 360 + Natal, but unlikely, and they will still sell the arcade for £100 by then

That is a poorly constructed graph (in the OP... the second is meant to be poor) I only came in this thread because it said graph in the title, but that is a waste of a pair of axes.

You shouldn't draw lines between the points for when the price drops, it's like saying the price was slowly dropping all the time.
The PS3 launched at £425... the only reason it may have been cheaper is stores were having trouble selling them. And I presume they are using the standard pro model for X360, so unless they don't seel XBoxes without Natal in for 2010 then the price increase makes no sense.
