Nibris does something, has proof

I, too, was hoping for Sadness.

What's this? New video of a Nibris game? And it looks like somebody's really playing it? We're cautiously optimistic. Despite our skepticism, we can't deny the visual evidence of at least one level of their vertical shooter Raid Over the River. And we doubt that Nibris would stoop to faking gameplay for a demonstration. So that's two real-looking gameplay videos for this game.

You may also remember Nibris's other hypothetical games, Sadness and Double Bloob. Nibris is in the process of finding a new publisher, after previous attempts fell through. All Nibris games still have a tentative 2008 release date.

But, no Sadness? ... sadness ...

Either that ship is slow to respond or there is a sync issue between his thumb and the game, lol. It seems at several points, there is a noticeable lag from thumb input to actual ship movement.

Looks pretty cool...the DS definitely needs more side scrolling or top down shooters...

Something like Aegis Wing would rock...4 player over WiFi? That would be amazing...

Looks cool. The music is really good as well. However, all I really care about is Sadness lol.

what, nibris exists?

Sadness a hypothetical game? Noooo! That can't be. They showed a video of the game. Not a of gameplay footage, mind you, but it showed the premise of Sadness....I was really anticipating this game.

I think Sadness was just a shrewd marketing move by Nibris. Take one small developer that's never made a game. Wait until something as big as the Wii comes along. Announce that your making a dark original, thought provoking black and white game that will utilize said Wii, Become the darling of the gaming press for a month or two. Of course, it seems like they failed to capitalize on that popularity by actually finding a publisher!

If there really was a Sadness, I was really into it. Oh well, I guess Mario Galaxy and Metroid will suffice... :)

I'm actually kind of surprised that with all of the positive reactions for the mere idea of Sadness that nobody was willing to publish or fund the project. Would not surprise me if it was just a PR move.
