Can anybody think of a game that

A) started this slow, and
B) made a huge amazing comeback, and
C) wasn't on the Wii?

I can't.

I hear some people (DmesiterJ I think, Leo-J maybe) bring up Uncharted in this regard.

Uncharted was bundled throughout Europe and they kindly forget that.

To be fair, LBP is bundled as well...

Well here's a comparison with the beginnings of Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, and Brain Training so far.

Click for full size:

Looks like LittleBigPlanet launched better than either of those due to its enormous hype campaign. But it also looks like it's tapering off faster. Uncharted (thanks to some bundles) had a slow but steady clime to almost 2 million after a whole year. Brain Training is a Nintendo game so it has legs that reach to the moon and it's at 14.6 million and climbing. It's highly doubtful that LittleBigPlanet's better launch will translate to sales higher than 14 million, let alone 2. We'll see. This could be the PS3's Viva Piñata: it doesn't sell too well, but it becomes a beloved franchise with sequels on the DS.

EDIT: It seems LBP has bundling, and Brain Training did eventually get bundling, but that was years after it was already super successful.

True and that will clearly skew it's numbers. However, many of the fanatic supporters will simply ignore the fact that it's bundled and pretend like figures are a direct result of desireability.

You just made my point for me Sony steered hard on first person shooters during the last twelve months compared to Microsoft. Can you really think of a exclusive first person shooter for the 360 out of the last twelve months other then Gears of War 2. Meanwhile Sony had Unreal Tournament, Haze, and Resistance 2. Expanding to shooters both consoles have parity according to this site. The 360 has thirty listed while the PS3 has 31.

Others have pointed this out in the past if their is someone going after the shooter market hard its Sony over Microsoft at this point in time.

You said something related to PS3 was slowly becoming the Shooter box that I hate right??? 1 shooter?? That's bearly a difference....

30 & 31 Shooters on each consoles translates to <insert drum roll>

- 5.7% of the 360's Library
- 12.0% of the PS3's Library
