Forums - Gaming - What Are Some Gaming Classics of OG YouTube (i.e., pre-2015)?

I remember obsessing about this video when I was in my youth. As a huge Pokémon fan during 2010/2011, and being early in my elementary school days, this video really drew into reality one of my daydreams of, "What if Pokémon were real?".

What about you? Do you have any classic YouTube gaming videos on the top of your head?

And just because I've got a few more locked-and-loaded...

Everything from Dorkly Bits comes to mind. Also, there was a channel called farfromsubtle that did let's plays I was really fond of

Dorkly, EgoRaptor, I guess Watchmojo gaming - tho later on I switched from Watchmojo to Whatculture - and then neither of the 2 lmao.
Those are the ones i remember watching, game-focused content that are not streamers playing.

VaatiVidya started a little before 2015, it was a very popular channel exclusively about FromSoft games. I used to follow it cause he had very good lore dumps, theories and explanations of the games's events. Dunno if it still exist tbh.

Thats all i got, never was big on watching other people play games tbh. Stramer are not my thing.

If we are talking skits/characters I guess old AVGN. There was Jew-Wario but he killed himself then was later found he was a rapist. Keith Apricary is some of my fave old school character stuff. Nathan is still around making videos. Nothing bad about him. Any Talking Classics episode is fantastic. Check any of them out. Shooters is my fave episode but given this is a Nintendo heavy website I will post one of those.

My fave old gaming channels were Classic Game Room reviews. And while he is still active, not what he used to be. Happy Console Gamer. I still like Game Sack a lot tho. These are more just looks at games/reviews etc. Less of a scripted gimmick stuff. 16-Bit Gems was good back in the day but abandoned the channel and recently got arrested for being a peeping tom. I liked The Game Chasers but sadly Billy died of a brain tumor last year.

Another one just came to mind! Ooh I loved Brentalfloss back when I was young. Listened to all of his music. This one was my favorite:

Some hits from before 2008

Angry Video Game Nerd (Episode 1)

EVO Moment 37

GameSpot reviews Big Rigs

HALOID

Nintendo 64

Pokemon Rangers

Sony E3 2006 in a Minute

Zero Wing

Its original upload on January 2007 wasn't to Youtube but I still wanna share this since it's interesting. Basically this is likely the first ever lets play video meaning video uploaded online of a video game playthrough with commentary. As you can see he even explains the concept of what he's doing in the first minute.

Since it is WoW season and WoW basically kickstarted Youtube to fame due to the overlap of WoW players and youtubers. Here are some classics.

EVO Moment 37

This was the first thing than came to my mind.  That very last parry in the air always impresses me.

This video shows the end from a different angle and you can see Justin's reaction when he realizes what's about to the happen.
