Forums - Gaming - The AI Gaming Era

Recommend you watch the full video. We seem to be entering a new era for gaming. AI is now allowing for native ports of console games, lifting mechanics or even entire games wholesale and importing them into another, and who knows what else is on the horizon.

What do you think of this coming revolution? How do you think the industry will respond? Do you foresee any upsides or are you mainly pessimistic about the rise of the clankers?

Generative AI is despicable garbage and so are the soulless ghouls pushing it.

This isn't even about the generative stuff, necessarily. The video is mainly about AI decompiling and the possibilities it unlocks.

Using AI to just slap things from a bunch of different games together into mindless incogruent mush is just trashy. There's no artistic expression or cohesion to this, it's like pouring a can of baked beans of top of ice cream and sprinkling it with sand and saying "voila, what an innovative new dish."

It's degenerate.

It's not a revolution it's a destruction of art and the medium itself.

I can see immediate implications - if this is fairly easy as it seems, there will be crapload of "new" games released on Steam, so much that it will completely drown already oversaturated market, unless Valve does something about it.
