Link to the site is… here. You list the top nine games which served to make you who you are as a gamer today. These nine that I have chosen are by far the most influential on my life, each with a big story to tell.

The others have such a strong place in my heart that not including them here would feel wrong, but Civilization IV and Minecraft are less certain choices. I think I have to include Minecraft though, and I suppose Civilization also opened up another world for me, even if I don't exactly play a ton of 4X games - but that's due to lack of time rather than interest.

Some other contenders for the last place were Alan Wake and Oblivion, Alan Wake for being a particularly memorable experience and Oblivion for being the first proper open world experience for me, but I don't think either had much more effect on me than 'just' impressing me. I also briefly considered the first Assassin's Creed and even Dynasty Warriors 2, because for the longest time it was one of my favourite seriesm, but I don't think their effect on me is otherwise notable enough to include in any of the limited slots.

To add to this, scaling down to 900 pixels width puts the image nicely below the 500 kb limit imposed by the site.

Played way too many games to narrow it down to just nine. Would be cool if they had something similar for movies, sports or music.

I juggled with a few games that didn't make this list, but I feel confident in my picks

This was a lot harder than I expected...

All nine of these games came into my life between the ages of 8 and 20. They got me through middle school, high school, and most of college. They helped me fall in love with the medium, hone my skills, and create lots of happy memories.
