What would you say are some notable picks? To clarify, here are some example of new spin-off series (Pokopia, Super Yooka Laylee Kart, Sonic Rumble) and IP (Stellar Blade, Elden Ring, Expedition 33).

I feel like this thread may quickly devolve into a thread glazing indies lol. Lots of good and original stuff coming out!

Just to kick off the thread: Stellar Blade, Mina the Hollower (assuming we see more of her in the future), and Expedition 33 are my top three picks. All do a masterful job for their respective genres as far as game quality is concerned, plus the designs and worlds they create a super fun and interesting.

Does Cyberpunk count? IP dates from the 80s, but the game debuted in 2020.

I’d count Cyperpunk so long as there hasn’t been previous Cyperpunk games (which from my admittedly scant research, it doesn’t seem there have been).

I thought Pragmata was fantastic

I'm not sure what really counts as a spin-off. Would hogwarts legacy count? Because really it's a new series.

Other than that the only non-indie new IP I can think I've played is Cyberpunk. Even Satisfactory was 2019.

For an Indie my favourite is probably Halls of Torment.
