I'm not sure what the temperature reading is in the gaming community, but my feeling is that the expectations are off the charts. If the reviews are what we expect them to be, then this will be the biggest Final Fantasy (not including FF14).

I also think that if Sony promote and advertise this game like they did with FF16 then this will be the most successful offline Final Fantasy. Its a great time of the year and there is not much competition this year as well.

This is the one we have been waiting for and it looks like it will be the best one.

Dude!

I'm so ludicrously pumped for this game that I've essentially financed a small indie studio by purchasing it thrice: once in the digital realm, once in its opulent physical deluxe edition, and once more in the collector's edition, which even includes a 19" statue of Sephiroth to stare at me judgmentally as I debate my life choices.

I really wish square would stop the timed exclusive crap and put more effort into PC ports.

Considering it has been ten years from the FF13 PC port and they're still just as bad, I doubt it.

OT - yeah, not watching this one. Final trailers from SE are always spoilerific.

If nothing else I suppose I have cause to fire up the ps5.

Get ready to strap in for 19 minutes and 19 seconds of pure FF7 Rebirth awesomeness. It's like waiting for a Chocobo race to start but with even more excitement! If they're giving us this much juicy footage, you just know there's a whole Materia-filled treasure trove they're keeping under lock and key! It's like peeking into the Golden Saucer and realizing there's a whole theme park of surprises waiting for us.

But hey, buckle up because there is more. The Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Review embargo is scheduled to drop on February 22nd – a whole week before the game hits the shelves! Talk about throwing caution to the wind faster than Cait Sith on a gambling spree!

I mean, come on, that's like putting your Chocobo before the cart! They must be more confident in this masterpiece than Cid is in his airship engineering skills! It's like they're saying, "Hey world, feast your eyes on this marvel! We're so sure you'll love it, we're giving you a sneak peek before the curtain even rises!"

According to Youtube Description:

- New trailer highlighting the charms of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
- Special gameplay video showing how the game has been designed with new footage.

Not meant to really rain on the parade, but that was moreso FFVII Remake thing. The hype, advertising and the pandemic at the time were more susceptible to create a more successful launch. It did great but the sequel can truly only reign in people who are in the know of the first game so I have massive doubts about its launch to be the most successful offline Final Fantasy.

Game had total sales to about 7M sold last year in September and it's launch weekend was about 3.5M sold.

Meantime FFXVI had a launch of 3M but dropped significantly faster than usual entries and we haven't got any numbers since.

Therefore, recent games in the series have basically been in difficulties to reach the highs people expect them to.

I really don't see how this could be different for Rebirth.

Despite what I'm saying here, there's a probability of it not being impossible to see this game get a successful similar launch to previous FF games. It's just difficult statistically wise when looking at the numbers.

Anywoo, I hope y'all enjoy the show. I'll prolly be interested to play it in the future but I wouldn't stand the whole spoilery aspects of this presentation.

While your analysis raises valid points about the challenges facing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in surpassing the success of its predecessor, it's worth considering that anticipation for sequels often builds upon the foundation laid by the original game. While Final Fantasy VII Remake undoubtedly benefited from nostalgia, hype, and strategic marketing, it also revitalized interest in the series and introduced new fans to its world.

Ultimately, while statistical analysis can provide valuable insights, it's important to remember that the success of a game often transcends mere numbers and is influenced by a number of factors including marketing, word-of-mouth, and critical reception. Only time will tell how Final Fantasy VII Rebirth fares in the gaming landscape, but it's clear that the excitement and anticipation surrounding its release is palpable among fans of the series. I mean, it did win most anticipated game of 2024 at the Game Awards.

Welp, personally, only the statistical evidence once the game has launched will speak for themselves. Nonetheless, it's a good time indeed for those in the cycle of interest for the IP. I mean I do wish it success since I prefer it's gameplay avenue wholeheartedly more than what they did with FFXVI.

But don't know if I'd bring up a popularity vote at a Game Awards show lol.

Honestly the only thing that could go south on release for this game would be if it were massively broken on release which is usually not for FF games so now there's only one thing to do .... Wait for the launch 😏
