12 TF is the headline figure.

Now Sony has to match or beat that headline somehow.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

With Microsoft confirming this is RDNA 2 gpu architecture, XsX should beat even the Geforce 2080 Super GPU, this is great.

Beaten Sigrun on God of war mode

Beaten DOOM ultra-nightmare with NO endless ammo-rune, 2x super shotgun and no decoys on ps4 pro.

1-0 against Grubby in Wc3 frozen throne ladder!!

I guess there could still be some minor changes (Especially when it comes to clock's speeds). But I'm having a hard time believing that MS would just show their hand like that without having confirmation of what's on the other side.

Like I said in the main article, MS seems pretty confident throwing these specs around like that. Either they're making a terrible mistake by showing their hand too early, or they already KNOW what's inside of PS5.

Or neither.  Someone has to go first.

Pretty much that :) I mean, at this point, we only know about the Xbox One X and even got the 12TF official today.
But Sony did not say anything yet and this can mean anything.

Yes we have rumors about a 9TF for the Play Station Five (I think) but those are just rumors and this time Microsoft (or Sony) had to go first anyway, it does not mean anything about the other console. I'm pretty sure people would say the same thing about the Xbox if Sony would have been the first about the next Play Station.

In both case, Sony will come up with a good piece of hardware :) Nothing to worry about. Both side will have a nice and juicy console to play on!

Well, I think you are all wrong. Every single move these companies make mean something. Whether they end up making a good or bad decision is an entirely different matter but I can guarantee you these decisions are not taken lightly.

Somehow I'm having a hard time trying to imagine a conversation in a Sony or MS board meeting going like this: 1-"Sooo, when are you going to reveal the specs of our new console?" 2-"Hmm.. whatever, someone has to go first."

Instead you're thinking it's more likely:

A: so when are we revealing the specs?

B: let's just wait until we know the other guys plan, whenever that is!

Yes, that is exactly what I'm thinking.

Look, I know corporate espionage is illegal and no company will ever admit doing it. But I do not believe for one second that these companies (ALL OF THEM) do not do some "research" on their competitors before taking these kinds of decisions. And it is not like "leaks" haven't been floating around for months now. I'm just 100% certain that these companies have more resources to verify the veracity of those "leaks" more than us simple forum readers.

Sony is also still selling plenty ps4s. A good rule is not to talk about the next system too much too early, it will only slow down your current sales. For the under dog it's better to get people excited early about the next gen, don't buy a switch / ps4 now, look what we've got cooking.

So when they say Gears 5 supports Smart Delivery, does that mean Gears 5 will be optimized and upgraded for XSX? Exciting stuff.

Meh unless they have strong Japanese and physical game support that's when I will show interest, not to mention when they make a smaller version of the console. Not asking for a fridge or server on my shelf.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

People are getting to caught up on specs. This was a smart delivery anouncement. This is to calm people about buying games now and not wait until the next gen upgrade. Mostly a dig at stadia in my opinion. Nobody wants to buy their games twice.
