Also I just realize Aces was released in the last week of June and got mix reviews, holy shit it taking the top spot is incredible.

Numbers for june:

Total: $1.08 billion (up 25 percent from $864 million in June 2017)

Hardware: $350 million (up 52 percent from $231 million)

PC and console software: $374 million (down 1 percent from $379 million)

Accessories: $353 million (up 38 percent from $255 million)

“Nintendo Switch was the only platform that produced software sales growth in June, with dollar sales more than doubling those of June 2017,” said Piscatella. “Year-to-date software sales on Nintendo Switch are also more than double those of a year ago.”


Here’s how 2018 is comparing so far to 2017 in terms of year-to-date dollar sales:

 

Total: $6.02 billion (up 17 percent from $5.15 billion in 2017 year to date)

Hardware: $1.69 billion (up 21 percent from $1.39 billion)

PC and console software: $2.56 billion (up 6 percent from $2.41 billion)

Accessories: $1.77 billion (up 31 percent from $1.36 billion)

Mat is mentioning that if the NES classic was added to the Switch total, Nintendo would be #1 in hardware (Dont know if the NES classic was #1 overall in terms of hardware, from the wording it seems so). No word on Sony's Y/Y performance which is odd considering it sold 374K last year, I'm guessing its slightly down.



That's some impressive numbers for Nintendo in June all round.

With how well the NES classic did, I think Sony should get into the classic consoles market and release a PS1 classic, that would fly off of the shelf's.



The software difference for June between the Switch and the Xbox1/PS4 makes sense, both June 2017 and 2018, nothing of note was released for the PS4/X1 (Tekken 7 last year), the Crew 2 and Jurassic Park this year.



Xbox One is on track to have its best year.

Fortnite had massive impact on Xbox One and a very strong one on Switch, but only a marginal impact on PS4.
