Can it become the best selling European console? All consoles, portable, home and hybrid considered. Will it be #1?

I think it hits 50m no problem but will it get close to 60m and take the throne from the ps2? It won't be long passing the ps3 but the ds, ps2 and gameboy are a tall order.

Second column is Europe.

1 PlayStation 2 (PS2) 53.65 55.28 23.18 25.57 157.68
2 Nintendo DS (DS) 57.39 52.07 33.01 12.43 154.90
3 Game Boy (GB) 43.18 40.05 32.47 2.99 118.69
4 PlayStation (PS) 38.94 36.91 19.36 9.04 104.25
5 Wii (Wii) 45.51 33.88 12.77 9.48 101.64
6 PlayStation 3 (PS3) 29.42 34.55 10.47 12.46 86.90
7 Xbox 360 (X360) 49.11 25.87 1.66 9.16 85.80
8 Game Boy Advance (GBA) 40.39 21.31 16.96 2.85 81.51
9 PlayStation Portable (PSP) 21.41 24.14 20.01 15.26 80.82
10 PlayStation 4 (PS4) 24.02 27.81 5.56 12.38 69.77

Guessing it's the 2nd one, hmm I think it will be close, not sure if it'll manage it, but it's certainly possible.

Yeah the second one

I wont say its impossible.... it could happend.
But it really depends on how well it does in the later years, and if it keeps selling after PS5 releases

That is a tall order... A graphic for yearly sales would help.

It should get to top 3 easily. But I am not sure if it can sell 50-60m.

It could, Sony needs to play their cards right and keep selling the PS4/and lowering the price eventually

No. I think it will end up around 42-45 million.

Sony success in Europe depends mostly in the long run. PS2 became the best selling console of all time shortly before PS3 launch and sold more than PS3 till 2010, however, PS3 died the moment PS4 was released, so unless Sony keeps the PS4 alive for some years, even after the PS5 (which is hard, knowing that consoles die the moment they are replaced today), it won't.

Nope! PS2 had the benefit of selling well for quite a while, frequently outselling the 360/PS3 in Europe as far as late 2008.

I do not believe PS4 is gonna have that kind of time.

It is silly to say it will not/or it will for sure because their are so many factors we don't know.
