Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Ending of Games #2 - Final Fantasy X

Tagged games:

Some say is the best Final Fantasy ever. Some hate it because the new level system. Some even don't care. But the fact is: FF X is a huge sucess, with more than 14 million units sold across Playstation consoles and PC. It was first time Square went with full 3D, first time with voice acting and, I dare to say, pushed PS2 to the limits.

But what do you think about the end? Good? bad? Perfect?

I just can't stand the pos-credit scene. There is no need to Tidus return. For me, it was everything perfect, so Tidus start to rise from the ocean... meh

Final boss (the actual one) was a disappointment, the previous battle was awesome though.

The ending is blur, all I remember is the MC disappearing lol

I still need to play the HD remaster, have it on PS3, was gonna get the PS4 version but decided not to, gonna get it on PC instead.

The ending was simply perfect

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

It's one of the best endings of the franchise I'd say. Things take an interesting twist as the one who "dies" turns out to be Tidus (or rather, vanishing since he's a dream) instead of Yuna, especially when everyone has made up their minds to defy fate at that point. And it's quite sad to see Tidus and Yuna dedicate a small time to say goodbye to each other.

The brief "high five" of Tidus and Jecht with Braska and Auron around, and Yuna's speech which quick flashbacks of everything that transpired are also neat touches.

Small scene at the very end of Tidus was innocuous and harmless in my opinion, but everything had to take a nasty turn and probably was one of the reasons that made FFX-2 happen.

The ending was ok, I can barely remember it though since I last completed the game in 2002. It is worth saying that the ending didn't bring Tidus back, it reunited him with his father in some sort of afterlife. It was FFX-2 that decided (in it's secret ending) that Tidus come back to Spira.

You're not the first person I see disappointed with Yu Yevon, but I've never fully agreed with the dislike that fight gets. It's supposed to be symbolic (by that point you've already won the game unless you purposedly sabotage your own team), and while Aeons fight drag a bit too long, it's sort of satisfying to take down Yu Yevon once and for all, especially when the fucker never stops healing. Also the music is quite nice.

It's like Sephiroth's final form. It's supposed to be symbolic; it does not pose any challenge and you simply cannot lose it.

well, I just finished the remaster version and the video is from it, but Tidus retuns in the last scene. Just watch it.

I guess it spoils a bit the whole "I'll disappear" part of it.

Mine is FF IX as game and as ending
