Is the Metroid lore anything to write home about? If so, is there a way to get the lore without having to play the games? Preferably in video form.

Metroid is insanely deep on lore. Light on story when playing them but deep on lore of it's universe. This got deleted but wayback machine preserved it. Long read. http://web.archive.org/web/20150414035815/http://imgur.com/a/twt9q?gallery
The Chozo lived in Elysia!?
Anyway, I like Zebes, Tallon IV and Aether the most. But Aether has like 2 or 3 good areas imo... So a tie between Zebes and Tallon IV? Not too sure.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

In terms of aesthetics, I loved Aether, but Sanctuary Fortress made me wanna pull my hair out.
Tallon IV was very memorable tho, and felt very well constructed for the most part in terms of the game design.
"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
Zebes, but really because it's been the most revisited planet.
EDIT: AM2R's interpretation of SR388 looks interesting, though.
for me it's a tie between Zebes and Talon IV.
Both are very well designed and connect perfectly with each other.
Space pirate's homeworld from Prime 3 because it's so immensely intense throughout the entire visit. The boss is a nightmare, though. Oh, and I loved the metro stations. That made me giggle.
Tallon IV, easily. Zebes is good, but a lot of samey caves and corridors. The different areas of Tallon IV feel so distinct and are great environments.
