Forums - Gaming Discussion - How come Age of Empires 4 isnt coming to Xbox One if Phill cares about Xbox?

Tagged games:

Its Microsofts IP, and given how dissapointing their gamescom event was and how dry it is on the exclusive front they should make every effort possible to get more exclusives on Xbox One. Instead they spent all this money to give something only for PC players, locking off their own 30 million users.

PS4 recentley got Sudden Strike 4, Xbox One didnt so dont come to me with RTS on consoles excuses, its pretty viable. Phill spencer is pretty incomptent at this point imo. Hes giving everything to PC bu it should go the other way too.

From what I have heard about the Age of Empire series its not a series that can work with a controller without dumbing it down.

It worked on a controller on PS2, it had also mouse and keyboard support as it had USB ports lie the Xbox One

Becuse games should not be watered down.

AoE is way bigger on PC and not that big on console.

Because if it came to Xbox it wouldn`t be exclusive. Instead it can be Windows 10 exclusive and Windows 10 is infinitely more important to them than Xbox is.

but not for Xbox One, so its not a console exclusives. Its pretty dumb to devolope a game for only 1 platform and ignore their other platform.

There are some games that simply doesnt work in console.RTS game being one of that small list.

You can still make it work, but there is a world of difference between being workable and being actually playable

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=241866&page=1

According to VGChartz, Halo Wars 2 has currently sold about 0.30 million copies (and just for record, I don't expect Sudden Strike 4 to do very well either). Now how well do you think Age of Empires might do compared to that? It'd be strange, to say the least, if it sold more, or even close to that amount. Thus, no wonder if it's not coming to Xbox One. It might be pretty easy to recoup the development costs, but why bother if it's just not worth the effort? If the sales are that bad, it's obvious the market just isn't there and the game doesn't even increase the console's appeal much. I bet its effect on Xbox One's appeal is comparable to an individual indie game, which is probably not a whole lot.

Obviously it'd be good for the Xbox audience if AoE4 got an Xbox version, but in the big picture, I doubt it's important. Also, if it does well on PC, who's saying an Xbox port is out of the question anyway?

if you ignore it for decades then yes i gues so. But Age of Empires 2 by Konami probably sold as much on PC during a similiar timeframe, with only being releaed in Europe and Japan by the way

Tell me more about it. I bet you weren't worried about it when Xbox was getting all the games and PC wasn't.
