Forums - Gaming Discussion - Nintendo 1st party actually reminds me of Microsoft 1st party or vise versa

I know this may sound strange, but let me explain. It seems Microsoft 1st party and Nintendo 1st party games aim for gameplay over the cinematic experience. I was playing some of my older Nintendo video games on the gamecube and I forgot how much Nintendo games gameplay is not only great, but dosen't focus too much on story or scripted events. Microsoft first party is like this as well especially just getting off playing Halo wars 2 blitz and playing state of decay 1. There is a few exceptions of course, but I like this approach actually. I want a switch because I forgot how fun Nintendo games are. My personal opinion of course so feel free to hate me and throw bananas at me.

To an extent I agree with that you're saying. Where MS and Nintendo both strive for gameplay over interactive story telling. Which is why I prefer both Nintendo and MS' first party to Sony's (as of now). Would love it if Sony went back into their platform repitore.

Nintendo isn't an American company though.

Legend11 correctly predicted that GTA IV (360+PS3) would outsell SSBB. I was wrong.

I liked it when Sony made Medieval, Crash, Twisted Metal,Ect. However, now it seems more and more their games are going to the story route and cinematic experiences. Even GOW looks like cinematic experience now which frustrates me.

Did I just stumble into an alternate reality where Quantum Break doesn't exist?

Don't worry, we will do a hostile take over. Assuming the communist packers don't screw us up again.

Thats why I said for the most part. Halo, Gears, Forza, Killer Instinct, Sunset, Halo Wars, State of Decay, Ect all usually aim for gameplay over cinematic experiences.

Did the OP say there are few exceptions? Wait for it... yes he did.

Hoping the gameplay looks better from what I saw at E3 :/
