Confirmed by an Eurogamer report.

Looks like the original Dead Rising is headed to PS4

 

UPDATE 9.50pm: Dead Rising will launch on PlayStation 4, Capcom has just confirmed to Eurogamer. But that's not all - it will also be released on Xbox One and PC.

Oh, and Dead Rising 2? That's headed to new consoles as well.

"Capcom will be bringing Dead Rising to Xbox One, PS4 and PC. In addition, Dead Rising 2 and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will make their way onto Xbox One and PS4. We will have more news to share soon."

Off the Record was the version of DR2 which brought back Dead Rising 1's protagonist Frank West, which makes sense as he's the star of the show in DR1 and the upcoming DR4 on Xbox One and PC, also due this year.

Thoughts? It makes me a bit sad that 360 loses this game's exclusivity as it made it a very iconic game in such console, imo. But everyone should really play this game, as it's one of my favourite games ever made, and after ten years I think it's been enough time. WiiU/NX should get their own "Chop till you drop" version, though...

Considering Capcom re-released all three modern and mainline Resident Evil separatedly, nope. Zero chance. Best thing would be a dual digital offer sometime on the future.

Oh. My. God. This is awesome! This alone made my day. Loved the second game, now I finally get to play the first one. Hope these versions get some added stuff.

Now I wonder... will it have Terror is Reality? *cracks knuckles* Time to kick some ass, then.

Seeing so many remasters that have been released so far this gen, this is not surprising.

Outside of SFV and DR3 (games Sony and MS published), remasters have been the totality of Capcom's business model this gen. It's getting on my nerves.

Would rather just see it come via b/c. I'm not going to keep rebuying games that I already own.



Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).
