So, some time ago Ubisoft has confirmed The Division is their biggest new IP and overall launch of all time.

However, today update to the Software numbers that finally reached The Division release date say other wise.

VGChartz has Watch_Dogs at: 3.716.535 on its launch week across all platforms (PS4+XBO+PS3+360+PC)
Now VGChartz has The Division at: 3.498.837 on its launch week across all platforms (PS4+XBO+PC)

Of course there is the "issue" about digital sales, but even so, when Ubisoft themselves have already claimed The Division is their biggest new IP launch ever, VGC have numbers saying otherwise is really strange, specially as it's not an estimate released before that official announcement, but after it.

Hope this can be fixed soon, seems like The Division is at least half a million undertracked, already.

Didn't they say biggest new IP launch, above Destiny as well, rather than just above Watch Dogs?

Destiny's first week was 4.25m according to VGC so The Division may be even more than half a million undertracked.

Bet Shiken that COD would outsell Battlefield in 2018. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8749702

With numbers that big, and the changes in times, I could easily see digital being more than enough to make up for a 200k differnce.

Yeah okay...

Digital across all platform would make up the number especially steam.

Let's not forget the other games would have digital sales too...

Digital sales... The Division was huge on PC.
That said, i never trusth VGChartz numbers, so i don't care if are correct or not.

Btw, i don't know if The Division is undertracked, but Watch Dogs is confirmed over, since is over 4m first week inc. digital, but it sold over 400k on PC (or steam, i don't remember), so with this alone the sales are down to 3.6m. And then, there are digital sales from all others console, PS4 / XB1 / PS3 / X360.

2020 predictions: NSW 25m, PS5 6m, XSX 4.5m, PS4 9m, XB1 3m

In December 2019 i predicted 21m Switch, but that was before COVID, obvius increased my predictions.

Biggest of their new IP, not overall. Also biggest launch ever from Ubisoft concerning a single day.
If I recall it right Zhuge had Destiny sitting above it.

And for people calling digital, it's already addressed since the beginning in the OP and Watch_Dogs also had digital sales.
All in all, when VGChartz still refuses to rely on digital sales, it has at least to put their numbers on accordance with official numbers.
It can't keep being an excuse, Ubisoft said it was the biggest, VGChartz numbers are saying otherwise, digital should still be a non-factor if they are not tracked.

Oh yeah, I see. They said it beat Destiny first week in revenue. Never said whether it did it in actual number of copies sold.

Where does it comes from? I remember this very same layout with Destiny above The Division.
