Forums - Gaming Discussion - PSV title Hyperdimension Neptunia U Will Be On PC/Steam on March 21

When I read the title I assumed it was a Wii U game, also this game looks like hot garbage.

Not interested at all in this one, but it's good that they keep coming. I hope that all Japanese games (except Nintendo's of course) will end up on Steam eventually, especially RPGs.

We already got plenty of Final Fantasies, some Yses and a few Tales ofs and Legends of Heroes, next please give us one or two Star Oceans.

GOG & steam, if you go pc route.

Exactly what I thought. With a bit of cruelty potential, just imagine what they could have done with it: call it Hyperdimension Neptunia NX and this forum would go paranoid for a week. XD

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Sadly this has been my least favourite Neptunia game.

It's not bad per se, it was just supremely disappointing. I was really looking forward to it and it only really turned out 'alright'.

It gets repetitive very quickly. While in a musou game I'm used to the hordes of enemies doing nothing, at least there's always other objectives or things to do. There's literally none of that. It's just mashing away at hordes of brain-dead enemies. It doesn't help that there's no difficulty settings - so to make the game difficult, you have to take on strong missions, where the enemies can kill you in one shot pretty much and you do tiny amounts of damage to them, which isn't fun.

The story was also pretty poor. I mean I know Neptunia stories aren't the best anyway, but the Re;birth games held my interest and even Hyperdevotion Noire was interesting thanks to the legions of side characters they had. This game had none of that, it was just about Famitsu and Dengeki and their stupid stories.

Overall, I can't really recommend it unless the price is low (which I'd imagine is what PC gamers will do anyway, judging by the buying habits of previous games). There's fun to be had but it's not a particularly strong title.

Haha when it was first revealed everyone thought it was a WiiU game which made no sense for the PS exclusive franchise which aims for a certain niche really only found on PS.

Anyway I may not have played 1, 2 or V but I own 2 copies of each (3 for 1 actually) so you can be sure I'll be picking this one up too.

Usually above 100k apparently. http://steamspy.com/search.php?s=Hyperdimension+Neptunia

They must be happy with that to keep releasing them there though.

HDN games (or Compile Heart games in general) always have a very low budget, meaning that 100k extra sales is quite a lot for them.
