MP Federation Force is coming next year this year, and it looks like it's going to get backlash, no matter how much Nintendo changes the looks or mechanics of the thing. It's very possible that the next time they show us the title, it would be much more different that in E3 2015. I don't know how successful it's going to be, even if it's attached to the Metroid franchise.

What if the game was Free to Play? Instead of trying to sell it for 25-40€ (or whatever price they decide), they try to get everyone to play it with a FTP model, maybe on both 3DS and WiiU (it can't be difficult to port a slightly bigger version for the U). Would that make the game more likable for the public?

They could have called it Space Football Force and it would have been ignored, but not hated. But what's done it's done.  :P

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Turn it into Rusty's Real Deal Federation Force.

Then the series is dead.

First of all, Next Level Games are developing this title with Tanabe. The reason why its on 3DS, and not Wii U, is because they're more familiar with the console (Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon). So there wouldn't have been a way to change it on Wii U unless NLG was able to adapt quickly to the different specs of the console.

Second, I don't know if a F2P model would've made any difference. In fact, because of the historic perception of gamers on F2P, I think the reception would've been worse than it already is. Probably the best thing they could've done was change the name so it wouldn't be given as much backlash because Prime is highly regarded by the fans and critics. You can still make it and call it a Metroid game without putting in the name Prime in it.

But in the end, it is what it is. A game that received backlash before it could even be played by the public outside of E3.

Changing it to F2P wouldn't fix anything imo, if they didn't add the 'Metroid Prime' to the title, it probably wouldn't have gotten this degree of backlash..

Took me awhile to realize that "FTP" meant "Free to Play", I am so used to "F2P"

Anyways, if it was F2P, it probably wouldn't mean much, since people are still mad that it's pretty much a shovelware shooter with the Metroid title slapped on it.

I might give it a shot if it's F2P, but I don't expect it to hold me over for no more than 30 minutes.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."
