Forums - Nintendo - Captain Toad Treasure Tracker is just about perfect

Tagged games:

Was replaying this game just now, and I have to say, while it's not ambitious or groundbreaking or epic, I struggle to think of a game that is more polished.

There is not a singular dropped or torn frame. Load times are practically non-existent. Not a single sound effect, texture, or model is out of place. I've never experienced even the slightest of glitches in my time playing it.

It may be a rather simple, bite-sized experience, but for what it is, it's about as close to perfection as any game I've played.

Agreed. Every level is like an intricately designed terrarium.

I agree. A friend of mine actually said that out of all of the Wii U's games, Captain To Treasure:Ad Tracker was his favorite and the only complaint he had (mine too) was that it was too easy. It couldn't have cost that much to make so hopefully that low production cost encourages Nintendo to make a more robust sequel to it.

As an aside, one of the reasons I liked it is was because it gave me a bit of nostalgia as it reminded me of that old 8-bit game 'Solstice' with its isometric puzzle solving gameplay.

Haven't tried the game myself, but I loved the Captain Toad levels in 3D World, and I thought it looked unique way back in E3 2014.

Maybe I should pick it up eventually.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I haven't actually finished it yet but yeah I agree, it's an extremely polished game.

I lloved that game!! Played it this past summer and it was perfect! I beat it 100%. Very challenging at the end. I will SURELY buy the Sequel if it comes out!

This is one of those games I eye everytime I go to a game store, and every time I wonder 'When will the day finally come that I buy this game...'?

I feel maybe now it should be sooner than later... o:

I want to get it, but idk. I wish it had a randomly generated area. If it did I'd buy it in a heartbeat XD

But it does... doesn't it?

Wait, it has an area with basically unlimited levels?

It is indeed one of the best games on the Wii U. It's a quick spinoff, but there is nothing cheap about it.
