Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why do people continually call Skyward Sword the worst selling 3D Zelda game?

Tagged games:

This is a little bugbear of mine ( and yes I'm slightly biased) but why is skyward sword so often slated as the worst selling 3D zelda game, or SS sold bad etc.

Only info I can find is that Reggie of NoA Stated it was the fastest selling Legend of Zelda game of all time (Shifting just under 1 million first week) and selling 3.4 million in under one month. So either A) it's legs completely collapsed or B) these people are just spreading Lies with No facts.

Oh for reference Vgchartz has it at lifetime sales of 3.96 million.

It beat Majora's Mask.

I think those VGC numbers are correct, IIRC, not so long ago there was some Nintendo report where SS sales were included.

So yeah, while it might not be the worst selling 3D Zelda (MM is), it really didn't sell that well...which is a shame, it is pretty good game.

Who knows. Probably because people prefer it to the second best selling game (Twilight Princess) on here.

Well, iirc, the game's legs didn't go far cause the print run was comparatively shorter than normal due to the Wii U launching a year later.  I do think the sales are probably over 4mil but probably not much higher.  Still, beats the original Majora's Mask :P

4 million not that bad though,  Any links (no pun lol) to that report?

Any game selling close to 4million is a success by all means of the word.

The game has its flaws yes, but it is just the Zelda cycle all over again.

Does that really bug you that much? I mean if that game isn't the worst selling then another Zelda 3d game is the worst selling and sales have nothing to do with quality.
