Forums - Gaming Discussion - VGChartz Plays! The "we never asked for this" edition (VGCPlaysDeusEx)

Tagged games:

Welcome to the first edition of VGChartz Plays! This is a thread on which people from VGChartz come and start playing the proposed game! We share experiences, tips and secrets together while we're playing the game in order to maximize our fun and also contribute to healthy discussion regarding our common passion: videogames! If you don't like/have the game, don't worry, you still can come up and contribute with any experience you might have had with it (or post the reason why you didn't like it, maybe people share that same sentiment!)

The proposed game for this first (but hopefully not last) edition is Deus Ex: Human Revolution!

Available for PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and WiiU.

I'll try to make this brief, because I don't want to oversaturate the first post with a lot of things, but some clarifications are nice:

THE OMNIPRESENT RULES: (The ones you have to follow yes or yes)

· Whether you have the game or not, you're welcomed to post in this thread. Try to make all posts focused on the game we're playing.

· Don't try to take shots at other players; whether they're better or worse than you, they get stuck or whatever: TRYING TO ACTIVELY CAUSE PROBLEMS, NO MATTER THEIR NATURE, WILL INMEDIATELY GRANT YOU A REPORT TO MODERATION AND YOU'LL BE BANNED FROM PARTICIPATING.

· Spoilers are part of life. But if you can avoid it, use the spoiler text from VGC not to ruin other people's playthroughs, if they haven't beaten the game yet.

· If you're participating, I'll be on your back, asking you to give updates from time to time. If you think I'm being too annoying, you can insult me, politely ask me to reduce my speech-rate or ignore me. I'll try to take the feedback you guys give me, but if your absence lasts too long (without any kind of warning), then I'll get worried. :(

THE NOT-SO STRICT RULES:

· Don't go off-topic. But I can understand talking about games makes you wanna reference other games or past experiences, so that isn't too bad if you don't get too sidetracked.

· Give regular updates - even if you haven't touch the game -. Let us know you're still alive, and you're still participating.

· Try that your posts have some meaty. Don't oversaturate with updates such as "Duh I killed someone". Try beating a good chunk before saying what you have accomplished.

· I can forgive double/triple-posts if something amazing happened inmediately after you've given an update.

· Don't you worry if you have to leave temporarily, or can't play for the time being. We're humans, we have our lives and we have our duties and responsabilities. Remember, playing should focus on you having fun and spending your free time doing something you want. I'll try to make this as flexible as I can. Likewise, if I get too crowded, don't despair. I'm still here, just give me some time. :)

How to participate?

If you want to be a participant, all you have to do is post once with this information fullfiled:

Do you have the game?:

What platform are you using?:

Do you own the extra content/DLC?:

What difficult are you planning to play?:

Once you post this on the thread you're branded as a participant and you can start giving content right away!

THE SPAM:

Watch these two play Final Fantasy IX! It's fun to read!

I STILL HAVE DOUBTS ABOUT SOME THINGS!:

Feel free to ask me!

And now, guys, let's have some fun!

As far as I know, the WiiU version has remade boss fights, some new things and all the DLC incorpored in the game. You can get all this on the PC if you buy the Director's Cut version.

Do you have the game? No, but I'll buy it tomorrow

What Platform Will You Be Using? The PC Master Race

Will you own the extra content DLC? Don't Think So

What Difficulty Are You Planning To Play? Hardest difficulty because why not?

Bummer, I thought original Deus Ex. I never asked for this for sure :p Human Revolution was one of my biggest disappointments.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

More than Invisible War? Not that it was a bad game, mind you.

Guess I'll buy the Wii U version on it's next eShop sale then

We could bet who beats the prologue first, if you're planning to start right away. :)

I pretend that Invisible War doesn't exist, it is that bad :D Human Revolution is not a bad game but it is a bad Deus Ex game to me cos the devs misunderstood what makes Deus Ex - it is freedom, not 'play it the proper way - like Thief' and 'play it the wrong way - like cover shooter'.
