Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do you think Nintendo should have given away Bayonetta 2 as a Platinum reward?

Tagged games:

I'm playing DKCTF and I'm loving it. It is a great reward for Platinum status for the last Club Nintendo award. But DKCTF has been around for a while and has tons of cache already. I'm kinda thinking that it would have been better served if Nintendo gave away Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 as part of the last Club Nintendo elite awards. All they would have needed to do was slap that M sticker on the club Nintendo site so everyone knew what they were getting into before downloading. It also would have been a great way to get publicity for the game and get it into people's hands.

Am I overthinking this? I think it would have been a great deal for everyone. The only ones who could really complain are the ones who completely ignore the M rating on it. It never stops MS or Sony from giving away M rated games on PS+ and GWG. If I were Reggie I would have been insisting on shoving this game down everyone's throat (who is old enough) as much as humanly possible. Am I the only one who had this thought?

Would have been great but then they gotta think about the kids

I'm sure the reason why it's not there, like most other Wii U games, is because Nintendo wants to earn money off of these games instead of giving them away as freebies.

Of course, it would be nice for consumers like us, but not always the case for the company.

I think it would have been excellent for the company though. It would have finally got word of mouth about how great the game is. Plus it would have given it more promotion from gaming sites. If its the best option, then there would be lots of people who would have picked it up. Besides people spent hundreds of dollars to get those 600+ coins. It would be a great tip of the cap to the fans who buy their products. I'm saying this as a guy who preordered the game, but I think it would have been great for them.

Too new. I don't think it has anything to do with kids.

Nintendo could have worked with it and put up M rating signs all over the Club Nintendo site. Even giving them a warning that it is indeed a M rated game and require acknowledgement before they send the code. I

Wouldn't they have to pay Platinum if they wanted to do that?

They could have but this is Nintendo we are talking about so I wouldn't put it past them if the kids were/are the reason

I'm sure they did the same deal with TW101. I'm sure that Platinum would have been more than willing to work out a deal.

Nintendo should start some kind of side Club Nintendo for their edgier games like Bayonetta, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, Xenoblade, etc.

Buy 2 and get 1 free on the eShop for example.
