Forums - Gaming Discussion - I'm disappointed with RE: Revelations 2 physical version

From the most awkward stuttering I've ever seen, to heavy frame-rate drops not counting the other technical flaws, I have to say I'm deeply disappointed. So far, I've just put twenty minutes in and I'm loving what I'm seeing, but the heavy technical drawbacks are making me very sad.

Also, I hate hearing my 360 trying to read the disc like crazy. It makes some ugly, nasty sounds unlike any others I've ever heard coming from it. I fear for my disc drive, honestly.

"- Why don't you try installing the game on the hard drive? It might solve the problems!"

There's no installing option. Simply put, you just can't. Well, thank you very much Capcom.

After I saw its poor performance on the PS4 I decided that even if I get the game, it'll only be when it's super cheap.

Same here.

e=mc^2

Gaming on: PS4 Pro, Switch, SNES Mini, Wii U, PC (i5-7400, GTX 1060)

Hopefully those issues will be patched but yea, its a shame how developers are releasing games with performance like this

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Now I am morbidly curious to see just how abysmal the Vita version will be.

Not sure how much of an improvement this actually is but the PS4 version is getting an update to improve its frame rate.

The Vita version is not beeing developed by Capcom, but by Sony. Not that it means it wont have technical issues, but its a different developer.

As for the OP. Well, at this point we cant be expecting old gen versions to be optimised anymore. I'm sure the next gen version run alot better. I would be surprised if the PS4 version isnt patched yet or if the impressions werent exagerated.

Im just disappointed with Capcom in general...

That, I can understand. But there's a crucial difference between no optimisation and the most exaggerating stuttering I've ever witnessed. Seriously, there are times that I'm doing absolutely nothing and the game starts stutting like crazy while my 360 starts reading something from the disc, which I don't know what could possibly be as I'm standing idle.

For some reason, when hell's break loose, the game actually flows quite well, no problems or frame-rate issue whatsoever. This is some X-Files craziness level, right here.

Also, for the record, I just beat the first chapter with Claire and Moira, and while annoying as heck, I think the game can be beaten without any further problem. Once you get used to it, well...you can carry on.

If the base they're working with is incredibly wonky, though, you can't really expect the end product to be up to much :P

Funny that Vita discussion should pop up in this thread and then you say this.  It's the argument pretty much every Vita fan puts forward to defend shodding porting (yes, it's crap, but it's playable once you get used to it).

This is the first Resident Evil game I've been interested in for quite some time, so this is a shame, but I'll wait for some patches to roll out and see where it's at then.
