Forums - Nintendo - new 3DS Loose Hinge?

I bought my new black 3DS yesterday. The top screen will snap into its positions. Once it's in a position it has a little more play than I'm used to. So it flops back and forth a bit if I'm moving around. What??..... Is this normal in these new models?

Other than this issue, I'm loving it. I don't like it when it's too loose. I like it better when it's tight...

I also have the Monster Hunter model, which I'm probably going to scalp later for some monies. Has nothing to do with the topic, just wanted to make some people jelly and hate me.

It's a feature! It tracks your head AND hand movements!

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Yeah this is something which happens in all 3DS models; though not to a major extent unless you're on a space hopper or pogo stick whilst playing your 3DS.

And if you are, well played.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Yea its a thing with all models for better or for worse

And if you wanted people to be jelly... you have done so successfully T_T

I think all 3DS have this. I read somewhere it was meant to decrease the chance of breaking the cringe or something like that.

Bought it along with 3 friends, mine is fine but two of them have the same issue.
It's supposedly made on purpose, to decrease chances of breaking it (according from the salesman we spoke two).
I personnally think it's a conception flaw.

Just because you have an opinion doesn't mean you are necessarily right.

I read that it's normal for that to happen to the models as long as it still clicks into place, gameplay shouldn't be affected too badly.

Also I have a MH4U model too so no jelly needed.

Well, that's a little more comforting. Just wish they were a little tighter, like the DS Light.
