Now you could argue that these maths are retarded, and they are, but is it really more retarded than saying how awesome it is that pokemon is now 3D in 2014 ?

Nextendo HH will be HD, and that should release in this decade.

Obviously this means Pokemon will be partially HD in a few years, but not full HD for a while yet.
I wouldnt doubt it overall since Nintendo handhelds arent exactly the cutting edge when it comes to technology so its a possibility

Everyone thinks 3DS is going away so soon, but New 3DS has yet to get here and it'll probably last a few years and have it's own exclusive Pokemon, just as the Game Boy Color did. So I'm thinking the HD handheld will be here 2018 at the earliest, and HD Pokemon might not come until 2020 or even 2021.

Thats pressuming Nintendo go HD next gen, while I believe they definitely should the 3DS is only 240p and the Vita is 544p (if I got that right). Could totally see Nintendo staying sub HD.
OT: Would hardly call Pokemon 3D, since I was a child all I wanted was a real 3D Pokemon but it seems only fans can make those until Nintendo shuts them down.

I was joking that certain assets will be HD while most assets will be sub-HD, as with the mix of 2D and 3D assets in the DS generations.
The joke kind of falls flat because it is possible (though I don't know how common) to use sub-HD textures in an HD resolution.
However, the definition of 'HD' is kind of flimsy since the PS3 and 360 were HD consoles yet had many games dipping well below 720p. And the Vita is frequently called HD even though its display resolution is 960 x 544.

I'd like a better resolution than the 3DS but beyond that I'm not picky. We've just about reached diminishing returns on the base 3DS model. On the XL the lower resolution is a bit more apparent. 480 or even 360 would probably suit me just fine.
