And the beginning looks just like the Zelda U trailer!

Jokes asides, I really enjoyed this movie. And I love how the main character, Ashitaka,  says "You're beautiful" to San/Wolf Girl when she's about to kill him.

Honestly, I would, too....

Anyway, I also love how women and men are treated in the ironworks village. And I love how there really isn't a true villain in this movie.

There's one thing I'm confused about.... how is the ironwork village going to defend against the next samurai invasion after the end of the movie?

Oh crap... I misspelled the title. But I don't want to erase the poll

By the way, looked what I found (or searched for lol) in the MiiVerse Art Academy community!

It's a brilliant film, i love studio ghibly films

One of my favourites. I love its mature take on man vs nature that goes beyond shallow cliches of "nature = good, man = bad."

As to your question, I think after the craziness that went down the Samurai would likely not dare go back.

Im sad to say Ive never watched it, its sitting their just waiting for me to watch but Ive never got around to it... actually that explains 90% of anime I should watch =(

Glad you enjoyed it!

The ironworks are gone at the end of the movie, they have to start from scratch. Without the forest god the emporor has lost interest in them anyway. The samrurai have nothing left to get there either. They can rebuild in peace.

Fantastic film, glad to hear you enjoyed it!
I would imagine the samurai wouldn't come back when the ironworks that made the village worth anything was destroyed. And if they come back after its rebuilt, the means to fight them is already back in place.
... Now I want to go watch it again.

Hmm

That's what I think too.

And this sounds really cliche, but I wish Ashitaka and San kissed... affectionately. Not by mouth to mouth food. Although Ashitaka did possibly cry from happiness because he got mouth to mouth with San and San did continue it afterwards... I love how the movie ended with them as only friends or possibly more, though. I hate cliche hook ups at the end when it isn't needed.

But I swear. Studio Ghibli films are the only ones that make me want cliche romances to happen.

The North American blu-ray releases on November 18th, together with Kiki's delivery service and The wind rises.
I already imported the Hong Kong International version when it came out. The upgrade from dvd to blu-ray is definitely worth it. The movie looks and sounds fantastic on blu-ray.
