I nearly did a spit-take when I saw the headline, but that there marks the first real cross-buy game available on Nintendo platforms. Buying the game on 3DS gets you the Wii U version free of cost (in Europe for now, but I'd imagine the deal will come further west as well.

Yeah, yeah, I know it's not much, but we got to start somewhere, right? In this thread, I said cross-buy wouldn't be happening in this generation at all, so I'll be happy to feast on my delicious words. It'll be like the breaking of the Berlin Wall up in here.

It's a start though. If this gets a positive receptions then they will also be more inclined to do it with everything else.


this is not quite the same, this is a brand new game, independently programmed for each platform yeah its nice and its pretty much the rule now on PSN rather than the exception for indie games. 

Im talking about Virtual console here, games that are just running on emulators, buying it on one playform should allow me to play it on any as its the same ROM, they just need to make an emulator for each platform. Its an easy win for Nintendo, the fact they just realeased GBA games for Wii U only is a fucking joke and a disgrace.

As i stated above cross buy for new games is nice.  But Virtual Console roms not being cross buy years ago is pathetic
