Forums - Gaming Discussion - Project "Beast", possibly Demon's Souls 2, What do you think?

Tagged games:

First of all, sorry if there's allready a thread about this but I didn't see any.

Secondly, I am veeeeeery excited for this even though I know I shouldn't be.

I actually think the screens are real and they look super good.

The atmosphere seems true to Demon's Souls which was darker compared to Dark Souls 1 & 2 and even though Demon's Souls is my least fav in the series

I would much rather see a D'sS 2 than a DS 3 for some reason.

Also I feel they need to make changes to the series  in order to satisfy the fans and keep it fresh. We need to have to learn the game all over again to be as exciting as our first Souls game was. I'm telling you, It's gonna be difficult for this game to live up the expectations. But I'm still excited.

Anyway, how do you feel about this..?

Here are the screenshots.

 The wait will be difficult.

Just something I want to add and is a bit off topic.Did anyone play Dark Souls 2 without using any spells, miracles, pyro etc ? How was it ? cause I feel that DS2 must be much more difficult than 1 if you're playing only meele.

I did and it wasn't all that challenging, which is surprising considering the fact that it was my first Souls game. Actually, I have been trying a sorcery build recently and have had far less success. For reference, I was using a combo of Vengarl's and Havel's armor, Mirror Knight Shield and the Smelter demon sword. I think Undead Crypt was the only area I had more than a few deaths in.

OT: This has me excited. Having never played Demon's Souls, I'm interested to see the differences if this truly is a sequel or spiritual sequel to that game. And the fact that it seems to likely be more focused on beasts than humanoid enemies has me anticipating the reveal as well.

Hope its not Demon Souls 2, I like the open world style way more.  Hoping its Beast Souls, which is closer to Dark Souls than Demon Souls.

After the E3 reveal it will jump to the top of my most wanted games list. Nothing can justify my PS4 purchase more than an exclusive Souls game. I'm sure I'll pour hundreds of hours into it.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Finally a real Souls game after Demon's Souls... I can't wait.

I personally don't think Project Beast will be a sequel to Demon's Souls, because the Dark Souls series is already carrying on the spirit of the first game (e.g., challenging gameplay, messages, co-op/invasions, etc.). In my opinion, I think the project is going to be a new intellectual property that, while aimed at Souls fans, is going to attempt to do something differently (well, at least I hope, anyway).

As for pure melee in Dark Souls 2, it's definitely as manageable as magic in a new game, but in NG+ and beyond while in the Company of Champions, basic enemies hit friggin' HARD and take less damage from your swings, not to mention all of the phantoms who are deadly in melee range because of their seemingly endless supply of stamina.

No hub, no world tendencies, no Maide in Black, different environment and atmosphere, etc.

I don't think Dark Souls is a fair spirit sucessor to Demon's Souls.

Give me back the IP again Sony.

i just want a confirmation that this game exists.
a want a next gen souls game so badly.

You really think a hub world is what makes demons souls, trust me if they did bring  a sequel it would not have a hub world, that was just to make designing the world easeier in the first game. From would not take a step backwards from Dark souls in that respect.

World tendencies was kind of cool but wasnt a massive part of the game for most people.

I did like the maide in black, although Dark souls 2 has a VERY similar character.
