If its like FFVII, it should only have the Squareenix login thing. I heard the Steam version of FFVII removed secuROM (which imo is just pure shit DRM).

Not sure about this one though....I would wait before buying this XD.

Thanks for answering. These companies pc divisions are run by complete idiots. The stronger drm they put, the faster it is cracked. So, the people who actually want to pay real money for it are the ones punished in the end. Yes, i know steam is a drm too and that sucks but it is lesser of evils.

I don't think Roses and Wine(This lets you replace music with soundtrack music (Which is better than the PSX one)) works with this yet. You can choose PSX Music, Or orchestral tracks done by various versions if you choose and even comes with a configurator.

as of now this isn't the best version. The dry PC version still is. However, that version is more expensive or you have to use other methods :P. This game however, doesn't have a whole lot of mods like FF7 does on PC. So the steam version is quick and easy, and has a higher 4:3 resolution, with cloud saves, and achievements if thats you thing.

In FF8 they don't have ways to replace the crappy textures with better ones yet or possibly ever, or lower poly models with better ones like FF7 PC does. There's a difficulty mod though, As well as a font mod for higher resolution fonts, because they are in a different format than other textures.

I haven't bought this yet so I can't say if they work with this version.

Good that more people will play it, maybe good sales of these ports will remind Square Enix that we still like turn based games?

Anyway, it's sitting on my Vita ready to play, so I'd rather use that than play it on my PC

Guess 7 sold well. I'll probably get this eventually. If for no other reason than Triple Triad.
