Forums - Gaming - Quietly, Nintendo Perfected A Whole New Type of Video Game This Year!

I found an interesting article in Kotaku!

The article is really long but it talks about why Nintendo still makes hardware and software. That is because each complement itself. And there are some games on the 3DS that you can't get anywhere else!

What do you think guys?

If it's too long to read the games are the ones are Flower Town, Warrior's Way, Mii Force and Monster Manor!

Nintendo, though they deserve criticism for a lot of things, also have done a lot of things brilliantly, especially franchise management. Contrast them with Sega, for example. Nintendo is extremely good at letting consumers know what they are getting. Even with Mario having so many games, those different franchises are consistent with what they offer. Likewise, they've managed their portable and home consoles in such a way that they do very little damage to one another. They are very separate devices with very little overlap, though if you want the full Nintendo experience, you'll need both.

It's strange to me how they're so smart in some areas but still behind in others.

I agree with your post! If they hadn't managed their franchises like they did for all these years they could have ended up with the same problems that some developers run into! (Less quality, damage to the brand) They are quite consistent in their offerings and the quality is always there.

They do some stupid decisions from time to time though xD.

I'm going to have to download these games, they look good. Sadly I don't meet to many 3DS owners.

I agree with the part about making hardware as well as software. Games made from the ground up for a particular platform have a certain polish about them that multiplats never seem to manage. If Nintendo didn't create their own hardware I think their games would suffer as a result.

Funny. The games weren't even made by Nintendo. They were outsourced to Grezzo, Spike-Chunsoft, Good-Feel, and Prope.

^ they mention that in the article.

Doesnt Nintendo have stake in Grezzo?
