My brother bought God of War Ascension from them, and paid extra for a money-back game guarantee (year's warranty) cos he's had games screw up on him before. (One guy blatantly scraped the disc as he put it in once)

So the game turns out to be defective, and he goes to return it. So, with the guarantee does he get his money back? Nope, he gets a lousy 1/3 of it as store credit.

As if charging $100 for preowned fucking games isn't bad enough. (GoW was NEW, btw)

Seriously? I'm not sure how things work in Australia, but try to get a hold of someone such as a manager or a regional manager and inform them of this. As a manager I'd rather fix a small problem to keep a potential customer shopping at my store.

They used to pay reasonable amounts of used games before that kind of made the high second hand prices understandable.

A friend traded in Bioshock infinite a couple of weeks after launch and got back from his $100 purchase $22. $22 FUCKING DOLLARS? Are they fucking kidding. I remember trading Red Dead Redemption in a month later for $78 as part of a promotion years ago.

But EB Games have 7 day free rentals, where I use the network pass and then EB sell it s new =P
Lucky me, JB HiFi are right next to EB were I live so I can check who has better prices. Then I go to EB and price match because I know all the employees there who are really nice to me.Something like what happened with you would never happen to me at my store

He has every legal right to demand a full cash refund for a defective product. It is uncomfortable to insist on this in many cases though and shops that try to convince you otherwise don't deserve your business. Stick with JB, there's a reason they've survived where WOW didn't.
