To be fair, I think a lot of the delays had to do with the PS3's difficult nature. Given how easy it is to develop for on the PS4, I have a feeling things will be much less complicated for PD. I'm inclined to think the gap between their titles won't be as long. They have set a precedent in the past with GT2 and GT3 where the gap was VERY small. Still, their are known to be perfectionists. Let's wait and see.
