No surprise here. Plus, any film with Oprah in it is bound to attract plenty of women.

i am going to view both movies when I get time. They appeal to me differently. The Butler looks very interesting from a historical point of view.

I saw both in theaters. Couldn't find Kick-Ass 2 online until about a week later and the copy I did find wasn't DVD quality. Anyway, the Butler was pretty epic. I really enjoyed it. Kick-Ass 2 was pretty faithful to the comic aside from some "why the heck did they change this?" moments. Both deserved to be successful but, in the end, audiences did pick the better movie.

DVD sales usually don't reflect a sequel will do better. This all happened with Firefly. Great DVD sales. The movie failed to make a good profit. It just doesn't work. I guess because the people who buy the movie on disc don't want to watch it in theaters. I never watch a movie in theaters anymore. I just buy it when it comes out on Blu-ray.
