The conclusion (not the battle) of the first season was a total anticlimax, and felt like they chickened out and didn't really commit. The ensemble cast lacks the depth and variety of TLA, and I find Korra to be kinda annoying most of the time. The love polygon thing in the middle of the story feels poorly executed so far. At least there is Asami Sato and Amon was a great villain which saved it. I hope that the second season is better. |
Well I heard that TLOK was originally meant to be that one season, then the makers found out midway through development that they were cleared for an extra season, so they had to untie some ends to extend things. But yeah, I agree that the romance angle was shoddy, and I'm not too big on the teen angst, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed it and believe the next season (Book of Spirits) will be even better.
