Should Zelda players have the option

So, some of you were saying you didn't like SS's motion controls, and mentioned you wanted the option to use trad controls. Some users mentioned that that wasn't really possible, and others suggested interesting but what seemed to be stretches as to how that could be implemented on a trad controller.

Well, they weren't so wrong. Xxain made a thread for MGRising, the new Metal Gear game to come out soon by Platinum games featuring Raiden.

In the gameplay demo, the player has the ability to control the protagonist's sword. Take a look:

Not that I think it will happen, but I guess you could always swing the sword with the second analogue stick. Same obviously goes for pointing and aiming controls.

When it comes to things like controlling the bird, I don't see how it would make sense to exclude motion controls though. Sure, it would work, but the gameplay would be extremely stale. I guess that's the price you would need to pay if you really want to remove integrated controls.

It would violate the spirit of things. Those wishing for traditional control options for Skyward Sword simply don't get it.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

If you want to play Skyward Sword with traditional controls, I would suggest just playing the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess.

I came to terms why Miyamoto and Aonuma went with motion plus as the only option with SS. If they added both options then a majority of the players would just use the traditional controls and note that the motion controls work. By making it the only option, it was a statement that the game can be enhanced and engaging with the motion plus controls. Would I like traditional controls for SS? Sure, but it would lose that special piece of magic that made it amazing when I originally played the game.

it could be just an obscure feature so haters have no excuse :3

I would take some frustration out of the game with it not always being able to tell the difference between a right-left, left-right slash, and more often not recognizing a stab. (The vertical had less problems) There's only 4 options anyway, it could easily be mapped to buttons.
Being able to control the camera is far more important to me in a 3D game then air sword fighting.

On the other hand, I might have gotten bored with skyward sword a lot sooner without the motion control gimmick. It was just a poor Zelda no matter what control method.

This. Nintendo can do whatever they want for future games, but Skyward Sword was built from the ground-up for motion controls. It's a motion-controlled game. The controls are as much a part of the experience as the dungeon design or the story. Saying you want to play SS with regular controls is like saying you want to play Ocarina of Time, but in 2D. In other words, you're saying you want to play a different game entirely.

But is Nintendo, they are proud of what they do, have a big arrogance.
It´s possible with a patch, how Skyrim in 360 was compatible with Kinect months later to his launch.
I think to play with a tradicional control makes the experience better, the camera is a problem with SS, not is a free camera, the motion controls are good but not exactly a evolution of gameplay, only is the combat of OoT adapted with motion controls.

PD: my english sucks a lot.
