"Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown has only been out for a week and it already crossed its sales target within Japan. The team responsible for porting the game announced their success via twitter earlier today."

It seems like Sega's new digital-focused strategy may end up working well for them, if this is any indication. This is a re-release of a largely forgotten fighting game this gen and is doing tremendously well for them. You can bet quite a few of those downloads came from the PS Plus inclusion though - but considering they have a ton of extra paid digital content like costumes on the side, I can see this doing very well for them. Congratulations Sega!

P.S. Shenmue digital release plz.

P.P.S. Yakuza 5 plz.

Yakuza 5 is already announced and there is few screenshots released (and it looks great!) , also I got this game from PS Plus and I bloody love it, its the best Virtua Fighter to date.

I'm well aware, but with Sega Europe's restructuring they said they will only focus on 4 core IPs at retail over here; Sonic, Aliens, Total War and Football manager. So Y5 is a bit up in the air.

I guess PS Plus userbase is still small. They are giving it away for free. Or, people downloaded other games. I wouldn't download it if there weren't any trophies. I hate fighting games except Mortal Kombat.

PS plus userbase may be small; I agree. It should be higher, it is an awesome deal.

They are giving the game away; I disagree. More games should be in PS Plus.

People didn't download it because there were too many games; I disagree. Choice is always good, plus I think there are much better games in the PS Plus category.

I wouldn't download it if there weren't any trophies because I don't like fighting games; self explanatory. I wouldn't bother but thropies were very easy. It took no more than one hour to complete the set.

So there's your answer.

Do these numbers include PS+ people?

NVM guess it did

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.
