Forums - Gaming - What is your GOTY so far?

So we are at the mid point of the year and we have just gone through E3, so we have a good idea of what has come and what is to come for the rest of the year. So the question is, what is your Game Of The Year so far depending on what you have played and what you have seen? This may seem like a wierd time to do a GOTY thread but I think it will be fun to place our bets on our GOTY and see if that changes by the end of the year :)

For me personally, my GOTY is Persona 4 Arena. A game born from a collaboration between Atlus (One of the best Japanese RPG developers) and Arc System Works (One of the best Japanese fighting game developers). Two of my favorite genres and developers mashed together on one of the best franchises ever conceived, this game is nothing short of a dream game, and so far from what I have seen things are looking phenomenal. Better than anything I have played or seen so far.

So what is your GOTY so far?

This topic made me realize that I haven't played any games released in 2012 :P

Resident Evil:Revelations
The Last Story
Pandora's Tower

(If allowed) Xenoblade

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Dota 2.

For the past few months, I spend 50% of my gaming time playing, catching vods and streams of the e-sport. Valve's effort is really commendable.

Do not allow yourself to be blinded by fear and anger. Everything is only as it is.

Mass Effect 3.... for now....

The best game I've played so far of this year is easily Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown; Complete Edition..

As far as a fighting game goes, the game is perfect. I got everything, DLC and the game for a cool 30 dollars. Turned out to be the best 3D fighter... Tekken Tag 2 reservation? Canceling it. I can't get into Tekken 6 anymore, after playing VF5:FS, and we all know TTT2 is going to use a portion of recycled content from Tekken 6. So, to me, it's not worth the 60 dollars...

For anyone that has ever wanted a balanced fighter with no come-back mechanics, and no DLC, virtua fighter 5: final showdown is there for 15 bucks.. The DLC is cosmetics, and is in no way required, unless you want to customize your characters' outfits.

So, I'll get DoA5, because I've never played a DoA game before.. It'll be almost 100% new. Where-as, Tekken tag 2, will only introduce minor character tweaks, that any patch could fix, and a very small amount of new characters. So, basically, 60 dollars for 30 new stages, a few new characters (most are on Tekken 6 already) and a tag mode.

Pass...

So, for now, it's Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. Best fighter... I love it just as much as I love Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

Resident Evil: Revelations (3DS) and XenoBlade Chronicles (Wii) were both excellent titles. Really enjoyed them both.

However, the second half of this year is going to provide some amazing games that I just can't wait to play. The awesomeness begins in August with New Super Mario Bros. 2. Bring it on! ^_^

Mass Effect 3, but I suspect that it'll be overtaken by Halo 4 and Assassin's Creed III.

Journey

Followed by The Walking Dead: The Game and the DayZ mod if that could qualify.
