We could raise from trolling simply to have people willingly play devil's advocate in order to achieve the same effect but without the lowered quality of discourse.

For example: "It's all well and good that the Wii has the most 20-million sellers, but has that promoted quality of games on the platform as a whole?"

vs.

"Who cares if Wii games sell good, the library still sucks balls."

Trolling isn't necessary to adopt vibrant discussion

It's not just a big thing now, because of Vita. It's just becoming more and more clear overall. It happened with Kinect. It happened with Move. It happened with 3DS. It's happening now with Vita... It's gonna happen with Wii U. It's just none of the other mods before actually seem bothered enough by it to make a thread talking about it.

On the internet it seems the term 'troll' is often directed at someone who is simply expressing an opinion which is different from others in that topic.
It seems to me that society is heading in the direction of not being able to express ones opinion if it offends anyone or expresses anything negative in any way.
There has to be an allowence for someone to express their true honest opinion even if it does go against the thread and general feeling of the topic, as long as they are not abusive towards an individual(s) or saying contradictory and inflammatory things just for the sake of it.

Yup it will always happen and a thread explaining too people not to do these things will not change much. I mean if some users get banned for trolling and then come back and troll again what did the banning do? In most cases it works for a while at least but asking people politely not to act “bad” will not work.

If people worked that way then the world would have been much different than it is now but sadly it doesn’t. Honestly what I think is that Montana has a soft spot for Vita or Sony I should say and that’s why this thread was created. That’s why I said what I said before

What Roma? Go to his wall if thats what you think, he tells me that certain things have led up to this and that he's been meaning to make this thread for awhile now. Maybe Montana does like Sony? So? He is the most unbiased mod I've seen and trust me, I've seen him ban people for trolling Nintendo. If he likes Sony and the Vita he sure doesn't show it when he gets to business.

There are 3 kinds of trollings. Ones where you're just taking a stab for humour or just being negative because you hated the company.

Very, very true Galaki. That is why I replied to Moreno about this. It can be very hard to sift through the playing around "trolls" and the actual trolls who are only arround to stir up trouble.

most of us are over the age of 18 and should act as such. Nintendopie has acted more adult like then near anyone in the past yr. and he's still fairly new, and 13.

if we can just get back to making good threads then all will be well. we use to have good debates that were strong, with legitimate arguments, that would lead to gathering information that some may not have known.
