Forums - Nintendo - Why is Skyward Sword doing poorly in the U.K?

It was my fault.
I bought Wii Music and it bombed.
I bought Zelda Skyward Sword.

I can think of a few possible reasons:

1) I've only seen one TV advert for it since it was released, compared to quite a few for other big releases, including other games on Wii (e.g. Mario and Sonic). I've actually seen more ads for Kirby.

2) The majority of the audience that would be interested in this type of game may have abandoned the Wii around the same time Nintendo seemed to.

3) The need for MotionPlus may have been seen as a cost too far for some who don't yet have it.

4) UK gamers' purchases don't seem to be too affected by reviews.

I don't care. I bought it and am having a blast. Nearly done collecting heart pieces (only 3 to go!), and then I'll be ready to do some kickass challenge and then go kill the final boss!

Really, U.K., you are missing out!!!

okay, whatever.

Modern Warfare 3? Which outsold Zelda in every country, even Japan. Other than that, Fifa is probably the 2nd biggest here, so don't know what you're alluding too ..

I'm not surprised, I think gamers have long since moved on from the Wii, and the main reason it's still selling is dance/fitness games

But why would that be a British phenomenon? In other countries Zelda is doing much better.

It's underperforming everywhere, bar the US, and even then it's not spectacular numbers.

When the system is considered dead. I think it's unfair to expect anything glowing out of it.

Yeah, had this released in 2009 or something, it'd be over 2 mill already for sure.
