.....or should Microsoft keep the current Kinect? *vote in poll*

In my opinion, they should keep the current Kinect since it is aimed at casuals and casuals don't care about precision and accuracy. Kinect, no matter how good the specs are, will never be good enough for "hardcore" games. I hope Microsoft realizes this.

What do you think? Agree or Disagree? What would be the real advantages in a Kinect 2.0?

They are talking about improving on it, nothing wrong with Kinect 2.0

I think it is something that they can easily improve upon, so why not do it? I am hoping the next kinect has a higher resolution camera, and a better playable area. I think the mic on it works fine though.

system integration. all in one package no extra peaces.

I dont think that will work well. For me it would not work, my xbox is off to the side of my tv since I use it on a prejector. I also know many people who like to keep their electronics in a cabinet. It needs to be a seperate peice.

Can't they improve it through software or something?

And what's this bullshit about 'casuals' not caring about precision and accuracy? Anyone who buys hardware will want it to be able to do what it's suppose to do well.

Sometimes it seems like self-proclaimed 'hardcores' are so out of touch with anyone not in their demographic or they just say alot of crap to put down the evil 'casuals' they think are trespassing on their  gaming territory. (Not aimed directly at you OP).

No. If they do that, they couldn't charge the consumer again. People with kinects wouldn' rebuy the same thing if given the choice. Lost revenue...

well i'm not well versed in the tech area but i'm sure its possible. MS is a tech giant they'll figure it out unless they want to milk the consumer. 

This is always a stupid idea and I wonder why people don't realise when typing it out. Kinect needs to be at something like 2ft - 6ft off the ground, yeah good luck getting your console in that position in the center of the TV. It makes no sense putting Kinect in the console and it's not needed ...

i never said it was a good idea. i've never seen kinect in the center of anyones T.V. its more in front of the T.V(ok i took you to literal but you asked for it). 6ft off the ground you say. so at 6'3 i can put kinect on my nose and it would be at the right hight. 

i'd like to see it done. inever for one second thought it was possible.
