Forums - Gaming Discussion - Wii U vs PS4 vs Xbox One FULL SPECS (January 24, 2014)

The devkits for PS4 have only 1.5GB free for VRAM.

I think the division was...
- 1.5GB for OS (not optimized yet)
- 1.0GB for games (CPU)
- 1.5GB for games (GPU VRAM)

Now with the 8GB kits will be great increase (2GB + 2GB + 4GB? Or 2GB + 6GB dynamic).

No wonder some of the stuff shown wasn't as impressive as some hoped.

What stuff? Killzone and the UE4 are a hell of impressive... definitely better than any guy in this thread expected (even me).

Impressive, but I wasn't blown away as I was by the tech demos at the begining of this gen. Maybe it's because I've now got a semi-decent PC rig whereas before I had a budget PC, but they didn't seem like much of a step up from Crysis 2 with DX11 patches (haven't got Crysis 3 yet so I can't comment on that one).

But how secret is that sauce?

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

It's a R10xx GPU family with more compute pipelines and all the rings changed to overall better performance.

The guy in VGLeaks just forget that is what we expect coming in AMD GCN2 (the documentantion already hints about that)... so the PS4 GPU is a R11xx family "Sea Islands".

That's good... the PS4 GPU is a HD 8000 based and not HD 7000.

There is not more custom... seems like a standard next-gen AMD GPU.

You sure? HD 8xxx? I thought everyone said it was 7850 with 7870 like tweaks.

AMD "said next-generation Radeon graphics" and the changes in the VGLeaks diagram compared to GCN are GCN2 changes.

I believe so.
