Earlier today we compared a discussion on whether or not the punishment fit the crime for copyright infringement in France. Falkvinge provides a similar set of info for Sweden. This guy was sentenced to two years and a big fine. What other verdicts have come out recently in Sweden?

Ok I'm mostly against severe punishments for filesharing but the way that this is written is ridiculous.

It's comparing the absolute minimum sentences for serious crimes against the most severe punishment for a lesser crime and then saying that the lesser crime is punished more harshly than the more serious crime.

In fact it's not even doing that considering the filesharing sentence was conditional jail time. What does that mean? He's not even going to jail! Essentially it's two years parole.

So you think someone who rapes another person is less offensive than someone who steals something worth usually less than $100 off the internet?
