Perhaps try to think of it like this:
Ignore the tablet for a minute and Wii U is basically an upgrade to the Wii in a more similar way to how PS1 > PS2 > PS3 and XB > X360... in that the controllers are much the same (the tablet controller is basically a classic controller ignoring the touchscreen, so you can use that or an old Wii classic, or a standard Wii controller [well, with motion+]
Then on top of that there is the tablet, which gives some neat possibilities for single player games in particular, as well as online multiplayer, and likely a few unique ideas for local multiplayer.
the new xbox controller should be the same with a better d pad. and have kinect 2.0 bundled with the new xbox

Learn maths. The score would be +2(3).
Well, now +4 again (because of the +5 not quoted in this post).

+6! A DualShock 3 but with DualShock 2's L2 and R2 buttons!

Yeah I definitely vote DS4 having at least DS2 triggers, though id lke them to be concave, even just slightly.

Bad pirate dog! Look what you've started =p
So to most of you, we should keep the same controller paterns and not have different gameplay options... I would understand that in order to get backward compatibility the new console has to allow the same control the previous gen had of course but if we were going by that logic (keeping the same controller) we would still be stuck with the one button and joystic controller. Thank god some think beyond what is available right now.
I hope devs will some up with different views that'll allow different concepts.
Can you browse the internet on your PS3 controller? I think not!!
Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.
Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash
Sony won't abandon the Dualshock concept. Sony will NEVER go motion-only. Microsoft probably won't either, but you never know...
